Known for her enthusiasm and vibrant energy, Roshel Santhosh Paul is the pillar of ISBMUN 2022. Being a storehouse of optimism, Roshel has never failed to serve as a unique personality in any crowd. Roshel has never failed to prove herself as an asset to the MUN conferences conducted on this island over the past four years. When talking about MUNs, Roshel often recalls her first conference in ISB. Her enthusiastic personality left the other delegates in awe. She ended up gleaming with her certificate of appreciation on stage. Since then, there has been no looking back. Her experience and expertise in this field of work make her a promising member of the admin team and the Secretary General of ISBMUN 2022. Being passionate about speaking and well organized, Roshel plans to pursue a career in management. Academically and Non-academically, Roshel has demonstrated excellence in all fields of work. MUNs have transformed a loud and competitive personality into a better researcher, diplomat, and asset to the team.
And for the delegates, Our Secretary General possesses one piece of advice under her sleeves,
"Don't make things too complicated. Towards the end of the day, your mind will be filled with knowledge and your stomach will be filled with amazing food."

Devika Suresh

Deputy Secretary General

Being a diplomatic, resourceful and well-informed individual, Devika Suresh serves as a very valuable addition to the admin team. Her expertise in art and literature and her knowledge of world affairs make her the most qualified candidate and guiding force of the team as the "Deputy Secretary General."
Being a by-product of ISBMUN, Devika has never failed to mark her presence in other MUNs conducted on our islands. As a delegate, chair, and member, Devika has always been an asset in all forms and fields of work. Having a good hold on literature, Devika has made it to the prefectorial council as the "Literary Secretary." Being a wonderful writer and an amazing speaker, Devika has won several accolades in several events and competitions conducted across the island.
One of her greatest achievements was being christened "Sashtra Pratibha" in the year 2015.
Devika believes that MUNs help students to become the best possible version of themselves and guide them to think about ways in which they can contribute to the development of society.

Here is one piece of advice that our Deputy Secretary-General would like to share:
"Don't think too much about how you are going to mess it up, take it as a fun learning experience and remember to have a great time."

Anugraha.jpeg

Anugraha Susan Sam

Head of  Organising Committee

Renowned for her confidence and poise, Anugraha Susan Sam is a source of pride for the admin team.
"Being a leader is the foundation of my identity," says Anugraha.
Being a storehouse of charisma and talent, Anugraha is an altruistic and humble individual. Being a leader or holding a mic is nothing new for our Head of OC. Anugraha believes that MUNs helped in awakening the speaker in her. MUNs have had an impact on her life and career choices. This exceedingly tenacious person aims to be a diplomat and ends up serving the UN.
Throughout these years, her confidence had been rewarded accordingly in several places.
Anugraha has always been able to excel both academically and non-academically.
And for the delegates, our Head of OC has one piece of advice,
"It is not about the number of experiences or awards you have received, but rather having a passion for resolving crises around the world as well as the ability to defend yourself in any situation.". The key to it all is nothing but confidence. Get in there like you own the world and you'll be perfectly alright!!"

Alfia Ashraf

Head of Logistics

“Do your research well, be an active participant, get a good night’s sleep the day before, and give yourself the permission to relax and have fun, because at the end of the day, that IS what MUNs are basically all about: having fun.”
So says Alfia Ashraf, Head of Logistics, to the delegates of ISBMUN 2022 on preparing for an MUN. There are very few as well-prepared as her. For instance; for her very first MUN, where several of her peers gave stellar opening speeches on the spot, Alfia’s own had been written a week ago and practiced to the death. On the big day, she ended up stuttering and stumbling through her wobbly lips. Of course, the moral here, Alfia says, is not that you must find unchartered creativity within yourself on short notice. It is that anything can seem scary on the first, second, or even third tries, but what’s important is to not get disheartened.
”Taking part in MUNs is a process of growth and learning”, she further says, and the ones that she went through has shaped her into the self assured and equanimous individual we see today. Today, she can confidently say that while still experimenting with the hows, leaving a trail of happy people behind her is Alfia’s goal in the long run. With 7 memorable MUN experiences behind her, other things that Alfia is passionate about include books, poetry, traveling, and dancing - winning several awards for the latter.
With warm tones and preppy smiles, although introverted, Alfia can flip the settings and take on a more outgoing role when times call for it. Possessing high expertise in aspects of logistics that involve negotiations, Alfia is an asset to the team.

Jannath Kamarudheen

Head of Public Relations

Whether it be on a novel or real-life, Head of PR Jannath Kamarudheen has opinions that aren't afraid to make themselves known. It is perhaps why she is so captivated with elocution. Taking little to no convincing to sign up for her first ISB MUN conference, Jannath recalls that she knew exactly what she wanted to do after that meeting four years prior.

In fact, the first embers of this-is-for-me sparked after a speech-gone-right in eighth grade. The humorous delivery impressed its audience, and Jannath's classmates made sure she knew it. This success spurred her on to give more speeches, take more chances, and topple a new set of dominoes when she finally joined MUN later down the line.

Friends describe Jannath as a cheery, well-spoken individual who is aware of where her strengths lay. She doesn’t sell herself short and is free with praise. Either by aggressively encouraging others to employ their potential or coaxing peers into standing up for themselves, Jannath’s unflinching approach to things manage to make lasting impressions.

If not devouring books at alarming speeds, she can be found baking goods that diverge dramatically from their recipes, watching the stars, or obsessing over unsolving murder cases. Up there with space on the list of her passions lay MUN—as one of the first platforms that aided Jannath in her quest of working out where she fit into the world’s puzzle.

Saniya Suzanne John

 Head of Finance

Before her friend Roshel’s urgings, Head of Finance Saniya Suzanne John couldn’t conceive attending a MUN conference, let alone excelling as an admin. Be as that may, her keenness for people and public speaking soon made it clear that she was exactly where she belonged

An extrovert, Saniya is a people person. Almost as a by-product of her natural cheeriness, she possesses the ability to put anyone at ease in a conversation. Endearing approachability aside, the casual optimism is refreshing. Unsurprisingly, the Head of Finance holds a deep fascination for getting the numbers to add up. On probing for her aspirations, she admitted that she had found her calling in Chartered accountancy. This is not to say that all Saniya does is make tables, even if every tally counts.

With multiple awards in track and long jump under her belt, she is also a well-accomplished athlete. If not any of this, she can be seen swishing around a badminton racquet or crafting photo frames.

Her run-in with sports spanned over five years that were quite literally, sweat,
blood, and some tears. Much of that discipline, determination, and earnestness have bled into other fragments of her life too—evident by her assurances that all fiscal accounts will be tackled with due diligence—and to pull off a conference for the ages, this is exactly what ISBMUN 2022 needs.

Zainab Arshad Raza

Head of Hospitality

“It's absurd to divide people into good or evil. People are either charming or tedious.”

Going by this Oscar Wilde quote she is so fond of, Zainab falls right into the charming fraction of the population. Ready with a comeback for anything thrust her way, it’s no wonder that she was looking for a place to debate at her first-ever MUN conference. Her analytical nature prompts her to pay attention to the needs of all kinds of people, proving her a perfect fit for Head of Hospitality.

Philosophy is Zainab's zone. Her new-found love for the subject, she says, is spurred on by a need to contemplate a different, better quality of life. "I can be quite persuasive. Once, I convinced a tree to shed all its leaves," wryly says Zainab, when quizzed on her accomplishments—placing in the top 20 on an IQ
test conducted by the school amongst them, "But this was during autumn. So the jury's out for that one."

At first glance, her lack of pride might register as imposter syndrome, but staying humble is much more than that. It's an honest assessment of strong suits and weak ones, and Zainab places much stock in honesty. An artist—in
the true sense of the word—if not playing out scenarios in her head for her short stories, Zainab can be found elbow deep in a book or doodling on any free surface.

She aspires to be someone her younger cousin can look up to, and not much can top that.

Aryan Arora

Head of Security

With a passion for sports and a love for experiences, Aryan Arora, the head of security, loves to interact with different people. His determination and a goal-oriented mindset, along with his supportive character, is a motivating factor to many. One of his reputed qualities of having confidence and certainty in what he is doing makes him stand out from a crowd. His favoritism towards cricket and swimming keeps him relaxed, and tension-free as well as giving him peace of mind. His control over his language is an impressive trait that even brings calmness of mind to those around him.
Aryan remembers how nervous - wrecked he was during his very first MUN conference. With his trembling hands he delivered his so-thought-bad speech. Nonetheless as his favorite season suggests, he faced the cold and put on a spectacular show. In 2019, his oration was selected as the best opening speech. This circumstance acted as a confidence boost and encouraged him to participate in the following MUN events. The MUN brought Aryan out of his shell and introduced him to the world of persistent hard-workers.
Just as MUN helped him, he would like to help others by giving the advice of
“overcome your fear and shine”
